How is it Run?

Pre-Placement

The first two weeks of the semester students will be in the centre conference room in the library participating in a pre-placement class with Mr. Zubryn. The class takes all morning/afternoon with the normal 8 minute break in between. All students will be required to complete assignments and pass a test before going to their placements.

Placement

By the third week, students will need to get forms for insurance and confidentiality signed by supervisors and parents. Then the placement will begin.

Every week on Wednesday, students will check in with Mr. Zubryn for 2 minutes in order to discuss how things are going and so Mr. Zubryn can pass along important information.

Students will record what they’ve done in their placement, and then submit it by the end of each week to their supervisor to approve.

Co-op Student Placements

Integration

On the first Wednesday of every month, students will not go to their placements, and instead come back to school for mandatory integration sessions where there are discussions, assignments, and guest speakers.

Transportation

It is the students responsibility for finding transportation to and from their placement

A transportation subsidy is available if:

  1. You are a student in a family with financial need

  2. You are in an apprenticeship trade
