Welcome to the Languages and Leadership department at Sir Robert Borden High School. The teachers in this department are committed to providing an interesting array of courses for students to take and enrich their lives.

French Courses: we currently offer courses at both the Core and Immersion levels with the Immersion program. Below you will find the French courses offered throughout the grades.

Spanish Courses: we currently offer two levels of Spanish. The Spanish courses introduce students to the new language and provide them with cultural and linguistic experiences of this captivating language.

Peer Leadership: in this course students are assigned to a particular class in the school where they assist the teacher and help lead the students. A separate application process is required for this course. Students are required to attend classes throughout the semester at lunch time and must be available in this course students are assigned to a particular class in the school where they assist the teacher and help lead the students. Students are also required to assist in online discussion boards about the course and what they are doing in their classes.

Link Crew: this not for credit program was offered for the first time in the 2009-2010 school year. Senior students in grades 11 and 12 mentor, role model and support the incoming grade 9s throughout their transition to high school. The program is run for the entire school year with the classroom emphasis in the first semester. There is a separate application process for this course and an interview will be set up with potential candidates in February/March. Training for Link Crew will be three days in August the week before classes begin.
