Class of 2022 - Commencement

Class of 2022 - Commencement
Posted on 05/16/2022

We look forward to celebrating grads at the end of June.  We will be recognizing our grads in-person on June 30, 2022.  While we are still working through logistics, we can let you know the following at present:
We will be holding two ceremonies on June 30 (times TBD) to accommodate everyone’s comfort; sign-up for the ceremony will take place in early June.
Each grad will be able to bring two guests to the selected ceremony.
Students will be provided with a grad cap as a keepsake; gowns are owned by the school and are provided for grads and cleaned/re-used by the school
There will be an accompanying simple virtual slideshow should there be individual circumstances in which families are not able to attend and/or shared with extended family/friends.
As part of the grad recognition, all Grade 12 students must complete a Google Form to help us plan.  We will be collecting the following information: - How you want your name printed for your diploma, transcript, and shared within the grad ceremony - Your post-secondary destination (work, college, university, etc.)  - Information that will be shared publicly in the ceremony (your name, favorite memory of high school, plans for next year).

ACTION:  All grade 12’s - Please fill out this Google Form by May 23, 2022

ACTION:  Grade 12’s/Parents and Guardians:   We will be collecting a voluntary $25 fee for the costs associated with graduation (grad caps, decorations, printing, gown cleaning).  Parents/guardians will receive a notification on School Cash Online.

Additionally, a reminder for students who are applying for the SRB Athletic Letter and SRB Leadership letter:
SRB Athletic Letter - Due May 20 to Ms. Dubue ([email protected]
SRB Leadership Letter - Due June 3 to Ms. Leahy ([email protected]) and Mr. Pender ([email protected]

Other Reminders: Graduating students will not have access to their OCDSB Google Drive files or OCDSB student e-mail address after June 30, 2022.  Please ensure that you begin the process of transferring documents that you still require to other locations, and have an alternative e-mail address setup for use after June 30, 2022.
As we near the end of the year, please be mindful that it is important you remain focused on your school work until Graduation; this includes both inside the school and activities beyond the school. A reminder that prom and other associated activities are not school-based events, but they can impact our school community. We want to ensure a happy, successful and safe end of your high school experience.
Finally, we will be in touch again in early June.
We look forward to celebrating the SRB Grads of 2022!

Thank you,

Mr. Gagnier, on behalf of the SRB Staff
