Greetings SRB Potential Graduates and to the class of 2023!
We look forward to celebrating grads at the end of June. While we are still working through logistics, we can let you know the following at present:
- We will be holding our commencement ceremony for all Grade 12 students on Tuesday, June 27, at 1:00 pm
- Each Grade 12 student will be able to bring two guests to the commencement ceremony
- Students will be provided with a grad cap as a keepsake; gowns are owned by the school
and are provided for grads and cleaned/re-used by the school
It is essential that every one of our students has an opportunity to be recognized for their achievements, and so this date was carefully chosen as we did not want it to conflict with exams and Eid celebrations that could take place as early as the evening of June 27.
Distribution of official diploma packages, grad photo composite, and mark-based awards will be available for pickup in the main office during the week following commencement: July 4-7, between 9:00 am - 1:00 pm. Awards that are not strictly mark-based, such as scholarships, community awards, and subject awards, will be recognized during the commencement ceremony.

We are collecting the following information to help us plan:
How you want your name printed for your diploma, transcript, and shared during the commencement ceremony
Your post-secondary destination (work, college, university, etc.)
Information that will be shared publicly in the ceremony (your name, favorite memory of high school, plans for next year).
ACTION: Grade 12’s/Parents and Guardians: We will be collecting a voluntary $25 fee for the costs associated with graduation (grad caps, decorations, printing, gown cleaning, refreshments following commencement). You will receive a notification on School Cash Online, where you can make the payment.

Other Reminders:
Graduating students will not have access to their OCDSB Google Drive files or OCDSB student e-mail address after June 29, 2023. Please ensure that you begin the process of transferring documents that you still require to other locations, and have an alternative e-mail address setup for use after June 29, 2023.As we near the end of the year, please be mindful that it is important you remain focused on your school work until Graduation; this includes both inside the school and activities beyond the school. A reminder that prom and other associated activities are not school-based events, but they can impact our school community. We want to ensure a happy, successful and safe end of your high school experience.
